Earlier
Conan stood frozen in his spot when Ran told him where she was taking him. "Oh kami…"
"What did you say Conan? You mumbled." Ran said coming behind Conan getting his coat ready for him.
He hadn't realized that he had spoken aloud. "Um…. I don't wanna go!" He ran over to the couch and grabbed hold of the arm. Smooth Kudo…Real smooth…
"Conan! You have to go! You haven't been in god knows when!"
"RIGHT BEFORE I CAME TO LIVE WITH YOU RAN-NEECHAN! I SWEAR!"
"Yes! And that was almost a year ago! You have to go once a year!"
Damnit…This isn't good. Why does she suddenly want to get my eyes check?
"Come on Conan-kun! It'll be fun!"
Yeah…for you maybe…
Later
The optometrist came out of the examination room with confusion written all over his face, holding Conan's glasses in his eyes with Conan jumping up trying to grab them.
"It something wrong sensei?" Ran said running up to him.
He looked at her, "Tell me… Are these Conan-san's?" He motioned to the glasses in his hand.
"Well yes…I brought him to get him a new pair…these seem…a little too old for him…hahaha…. they remind me of my friend's father's glasses!"
Conan went pale yet no one seemed to notice.
"They are?" Conan resumed trying to jump for them. "Why?"
"What do you mean? He needs them to see."
He placed them in Ran's hand. "Put them on."
"But-"
"Please."
Ran placed the glasses on, expecting to be blinded but found them crystal clear.
"As you can see." pun the doctor said. "Those have no perception in them at all. He had twenty-twenty vision." He motioned to Conan.
That was when Ran first looked at the boy without his glasses.
"Shini..chi…" Ran fainted to the floor.
"Thanks a lot Sensei." Shinichi snapped before he rushed to her aide.
