A/N: Okay, first of all, I don't know how good this poem is. Why? ...It rhymes. Yes, I have written a poem that rhymes. Angsty, Dark, please tell me if you like it.

To Understand Death

Death, a word I don't understand,

the blackest of nights, the coldest of hands

The icy grip that doesn't let go,

the expressionless gaze your eyes now show

Words once spoken, now dead on the night,

a soundless voices that holds no light

Whispering of inescapable fear,

but no one to listen, no one to hear

You lie here still, not daring to move,

is there something you're trying to prove?

Is this some game your playing now?

If I can end it please tell me how

Please tell me how I can turn back the time,

when there was no grief to claim my mind

When you walked free under the sky,

not lying here dead, as I madly ask why

I wish their was something I could do,

to find your soul, to be with you

...But what I think of could not be so,

then again... why not let go?

Why not join you in eternal night?

could it be better than this garish light?

What of those I'll be leaving here?

my father, my friends, will they shed tears?

Will they forgive me if I give up my life?

could they forget, could they survive?

Could they simply remember my life and my song?

of course they could, for they are strong

I'm coming my brother, forsaking my life,

I'll be with you forever in eternal night

I get it now, what you must have,

for to understand death is to die yourself

Well?
