"Get your things and get out!" she screamed as he came in the apartment.

'God, is this a familiar scene,' John thought to himself.

"Casey, calm down. Why are you suddenly so angry at me?" he asked calmly

"Don't pretend you don't know," she said, shaking with anger.

"Casey, sweetheart I don't,"-

"Don't you sweetheart me, it's obvious who you're really in love with, who you would risk your career for," Casey said, breaking down in tears.

"Oh for crying out," he stopped himself short. "Casey, I'm not in love with Amy Solwey! Yes, I care about her, but it's like – like I care for Olivia."

"You're not in love with her?"

"No, you're the only woman I love," he said, as he took her face in his right hand andgently wiped away her tears with his thumb and forefinger. He kissed her tenderly at first and then more passionately. She broke the kiss.

"You really love me?" she asked, not sounding entirely convinced.

"Yes," he said with a note of amused tolerance, and then he gladly spent the night convincing her of his love for her.
