Disclaimer: I don't own any of it.

Out of all the people in the world, I knew it would be those two. Call it animal instinct, call it magic, call it whatever you will, I knew those two were destined to be together.

It was like fate, and how ironic it was.

She couldn't stand him. And he was crazy for her. It was like the gods had decided to play a horrible joke on them, because no matter how far she ran, he chased. And no matter how much he chased, she still ran.

They had nothing in common either. She was the good girl, and he was the mischievous prankster. They were both smart, but they used their brains for different things. He was always so laid-back while she was uptight. He was a show-off and she never rubbed anything in anyone's face.

Even in their raising; he was pureblood and she was muggleborn.

Now that I look back on it, it seems obvious why they ended up together.

Muggles have a saying; "Opposites attract." I realize that in the case of Lily Evans and James Potter, it was never more true.

They had nothing in common, other than brains, bravery, and a talent for magic. They couldn't stand each other at first. For some reason James was intrigued anyway, he just couldn't get enough of her though he professed to dislike her. But dislike turned to love in seven short years and now I'm here at their wedding reception, watching them dance to some old tune.

At first a lot of us wondered why James ever fell for her, but now I see that it was their differences that brought them together.

She was the only girl James ever had to work at to get. It was inevitable that he would fall in love with her.
