New Beginnings
Jump City Train Station
Jackson Maxwell stepped off the train, and onto the grimy platform with the words of his sensei still ringing in his years. Many months had passed since his death, but to Jackson, it seemed as if it had just happened.
"I have taught you all that I know of this world young one, and I sense my time on this world is almost over. No matter what happens, you must never give up on your dreams, never quit. You must always seek to improve yourself, and you must never stop searching. Travel to the west, to the city of night, there you will find my final gift to you. Jackson played this memory over and over, while he walked down the stairs and out of the station. While he was waiting for a taxi, his gaze landed on a newspaper stand, he looked at the headlines of a few papers, and one in particular caught his eye. "Titans Revive Fallen Member" Jackson wondered what this could mean, but he dismissed these thoughts as the cab approached. "Don't worry sensei, I won't fail you."
Titans Tower
It had been two days since Terra had been released from her earthen tomb, and the Titans wanted to celebrate the occasion to the fullest. Thanks to Raven's powers, and a group of scientist from Wayne Enterprises, Terra was once again with the people she had grown to love.
"C'mon Raven" Cyborg coaxed "you should be happy, thanks to you Terra's free." The young half-demon cracked a small smile, which in turn cracked the windows of the tower. "Uhh, sorry" Raven said as she hovered away. Over in the living room an ecstatic Starfire was overwhelming Terra, "Friend Terra, today is a most glorious day, you are back. We have all missed you greatly, I had believed you do be gone."
Robin looked up and smiled, "I think Starfire speaks for all of us when she says that." Thanks guys, I really appreciate all of this, everything, but I've gotta ask you one thing Robin. "Sure, go ahead" Robin shrugged, Terra looked him in the eye when she spoke, "Robin, is it over? Is Slade dead?
Taxi
Jackson let his mind wander while he was in the cab, numerous thoughts coming and going. He was brought back to reality when the driver started talking. "Hey kid, your not from around here right?" he said "lemme guess, Gotham right?" Jackson smiled as he spoke "am I that obvious?" "not really" the cabbie replied "but when you've been in the business as long as me, you learn a thing or two." "I guess your right" Jackson said "to the right, that's my stop".
Titans Tower
Terra was on a roller coaster of emotion, a moment ago she was glad to be back; but now she wished she had never woken up. She couldn't believe what she was hearing "you mean Slade is still alive?" Terra stuttered, "I thought,…I thought I killed him". Raven turned away from Terra when she spoke, "You could say that, you did kill Slade, but he's back from the dead, and he's stronger than before."
So I didn't do anything ?" Terra yelled, "I thought that…that we beat him, that it was finally over, but I was wrong". "Don't worry Terra" Beast Boy said, "you've only been here for a few days, and you're already stressed out. You did a good thing when you beat Slade, and if he ever decides to show up again, were gonna beat him." "You guys are right" Terra said "I'm gonna go to bed, ill see you in the morning".
