Author's Notes: Written for the Marauders challenge at hp100. There's a possible pairing reference if you want it to be there, although I didn't intend for it. Also, there's a bit of tense switching in the second paragraph, but it seems to work better as it is. Finally, I know people have slightly different interpretations of ekpyrosis and the deluge, but I'm going with how I learned it.

Revolution

From Chaos sprang the elements, as similar as the four seasons.

James is Wind, the playful trickster whose whispers push men in directions his whims fancy. Sirius is Fire, the runaway spark raging from a dying inferno. Remus is Earth, ever-present, rock-stubborn, yet scattered by Wind and melted by Fire like sand. Peter is Water, flowing one way, ebbing the other, an insignificant trickle.

Together, the four created a balanced world of their own, spreading chaotic harmony with whirlwinds, wildfire, earthquakes, and rainfall.

The ancients they mocked in Divination predicted correctly: The world was created by fire, and destroyed by a great flood.
