Prologue
U.S.A.- Around 1 A.M.
The stars were shining luminously in the sky. The air was thick with a winter chill. A lone figure appeared outside of a rural home. The house was modern, made of fashionable brick. Very cozy looking, the many rooms of the house were vast in size. In one such room, there was a dangerous contender.
In one of the rooms, the air swirled and misted into a human shape. The figure was that of a woman, her bright white shirt and pale skin was visible only because of the moonlight. She observed the room; desk, chair, posters, magazines--- typical teenager merchandise. Her eyes wandered to the bed near the corner.
A young man, possibly seventeen or eighteen years old, had his shoulder-length red hair splayed on a pillow. The crimson coloring of his hair made an interesting contrast to the white pillowcase. She could hear him snoring softly.
'Just to think that he's a wild card…' the woman thought. She walked silently to the desk and set an envelope on the mahogany surface. It was black and was sealed with a red wax insignia that looked rather archaic.
'I hope he knows what he's getting himself into…' she thought as her body started to dissipate.
