-Pass the Time-
After that Christmas, there was a new sense of friendship in the air. Mido didn't pick on me anymore and we stopped pulling pranks on him in return. Course everyone still stayed in their little groups and didn't branch out.
Because of the returned boredom from winter ending and not having much to do in summer, I actually read every single book I could get my hands on. I didn't realize how much was really out there. I got really into different languages and even taught myself old Hylian, which was lost to almost everyone.
Often times I'd see Simon around but it was like he'd disappear every time I tried to go talk to him. As the year ended once again, I was really tiring of Kokiri. I knew Link desperately wanted to leave and I hated that I was the reason he couldn't leave yet. Dmitri kept trying to find a loophole to the Deku Tree's magic rules about leaving but to no avail.
"Only three more years Saira" Dmitri said. "Three more agonizing years"
"I was hoping to find a spell to speed up time but the only thing I could find was about someone called the Hero of Time who could travel up and down the river of time." I said
"Hero of Time?" Link inquired
"Yeah, supposedly it was supposed to be a boy without a faery from the forest"
"Hey, Link, you fit that profile" Dmitri commented
"Yeah but I'm no hero."
"You're my hero," I said jokingly
"Oh wow"
"I think it'd be cool if you were" I said
"What?" Link said smiling
"My brother would be a legend. And as a sister of a legend I could get famous"
"Keep dreaming," he said.
"Okay I can't stand this. I'm going into the Lost Woods" Dmitri said
"I'm coming with"
"Me too"
We all followed Dmitri to the Lost Woods and played around. We would come up with the most outrageous storylines to act out. I don't know where we thought up things like fighting elaborate wars and naming the places Mirkwood or Minas Tirith.
"Hey, this doesn't look familiar" I said as we wandered aimlessly.
"You're right. Looks like we took a wrong turn somewhere." Link said
"Do you hear that?" Dmitri asked suddenly.
I perked my senses and then I heard it too. It was music but it was nothing of Kokiri. It was drums and sounds I didn't recognize.
"Where's it coming from?" Dmitri asked
"I don't know"
"Look!" Link shouted
He pointed to a completely different place than Dmitri and I was looking.
"What the hell?" Dmitri said.
I'm glad he said it. Link would have gotten onto me, but the reaction was correct. There was an enormous stone rectangular archway. We walked closer and the music started getting louder. And that's when I noticed several boulders blocking any chance of going through. Weird looking flowers were growing in the shadows and I didn't want to get too close.
"Wait a minute!" Dmitri yelled
"Goddess Dmitri, you scared me half to death!" I yelled back after jumping horribly.
"Sorry, but I know this place. My dad was telling me that just about every place in Hyrule is connected to the other parts. He said that there was one linking Kokiri Forest to Goron City."
"Yeah but how are we supposed to get past all that?" Link asked
I looked around and suddenly I wasn't seeing my life anymore. Everything was fuzzy like a memory.
"Saira, you all right?" Link asked
"Yeah just a dizzy spell" I said "What are those plants?"
"I don't know. Nothing that grows in Kokiri" Dmitri said
"Get back" I said
"What?" they said
"Get back. I think I know how to get through."
They took one step.
"Okay don't blame me if you get hurt" I said as I got a good fifteen or twenty feet away and left them standing only a few feet from the tunnel.
I summoned the light bead like in my vision or whatever it was and floated it over to the plants. I lit only one and once it started glowing and sizzling, they ran and joined me behind a tree.
I covered my ears and they mimicked. One explosion caused a chain reaction filling the air with loud blasts. Debris flew past the trees and the ground shook. When I was sure it'd stopped, I looked back and saw the boulders were now only dust. The music was really loud now and the three of us slowly crept toward the opening.
"Do you think we can get through?" Link asked
"What do you mean?" Dmitri said
"Well, the Deku Tree put magic on the Kokiri and the forest to prevent them from leaving until a certain age."
"He could have overlooked this place since he was already blocked up"
"Yeah, but I'm sure he knew there would be people like Saira who could figure out how to get past it" Link argued.
"Dmitri go check" I said breaking up their debate.
"What?"
"Go see if we can get through. If you're so confident the Deku Tree overlooked it then go check."
"Fine, I will" he said, "I'll show you. I'm going to walk straight—"
Bam!
"—Into a magic barrier" I laughed as he fell down.
"Haha, Saira. You knew didn't you?"
"Course I did"
"Well we got through one day." Link said
"Except that it's noon," I said.
Again we were left in a state of boredom. We started playing our war games again with carved sticks. I never won. I couldn't hold it right let alone fight my brother or Dmitri. They always made fun of my horrible skills but I could always get them back using magic. Or while hiding I would turn into someone else and scare the bejesus out of them.

I watched myself, but how could that be me? I summoned a few light beads to light the small tunnel. I began to hear a hissing sound behind me. One of the light beads had landed on the flowers and it made the flower begin to glow and hiss giving off smoke.
"Dmitri"
"Not now, Saira. I'm almost through"
But I grabbed him and dragged him away. Just in time to because the flower exploded making the others explode as well. I covered my face and waited for the explosions to stop.
"Dmitri?"
"What did you do? He asked lying flat on his back with dust all over his face
"Sorry"
I went over to him and helped him up. Dust flew off our clothing making us cough hoarsely.
"Saira, its open. Look!"
It stopped abruptly but the dizzy feeling afterward made me fall."Saira, you all right?" Link asked
"Yeah just a dizzy spell" I said "What are those plants?"
