Well, there he was again, traipsing through that cursed forest again! Will Grimm swung his sword trying to fight off the branches as he made his way forward. "Jake," he called loudly. No answer. He sighed and kept moving. He had seen the look on his younger brother's face when he had seen him with Angelika. Will hadn't meant anything by it. Then Jake had run off, run away from him.
"Jake! Jake!" Will's stomach began to tighten. "I'll kill you if you get killed."
'Jake…God you're an idiot.' He thought. 'You never think, you can't think. I should just turn around. Turn around and let the forest take you. I'd probably be a lot better off without your constant annoying voice every two minutes. "Will, Angelika, mother, waaah." Stupid child, where are you?'
Will spotted some movement in front of him and froze. 'A horse?' He moved a little closer. 'Jake's horse.' Will let out a breath that he'd been holding in since his brother had taken off. There were no people around.
"He's already at the tower." Will started to move faster. Ever since his sister died Will couldn't look at his brother the same again. Intellectually he knew that it wasn't Jake's fault that the girl had died. Jake had been very young and naïve. In fact Jake was still naïve. How could he trust the younger man to do anything when his head had never left the clouds?
Still, he just couldn't let it go. He couldn't stop hating him. He had always felt an obligation to Jake. Finally he heard three familiar voices.
"Ready, go!" Will's heart stopped as he watched Jake being catapulted into the air. "NO!" Jake hit the wall with a sickening thud and tumbled to the ground.
Will made a mad dash to his baby brother's side. Jake wasn't moving. "Jake? Jacob? Jake?" 'God, please, please don't be dead. Oh, Jake please.' With a shaky hand he turned the unmoving form over.
A dummy? Will felt like a complete idiot but at the same time he wanted to laugh with relief. That feeling completely diminished when he turned to see Jake barking orders at he others.
Will angrily tossed the dummy to the spot where it fell. He stood to face his brother. He could tell that he was angry but it couldn't match his own feelings of rage.
He saw the hurt and determination in his brother's eyes. Will wanted to take Jake in his arms and tell him not to do this tell him how sorry he was for everything. Instead he decided to yell. What else could he do?
Authors note: I know it's short but it's my first Grimm story. Go easy. R&R please.
