The Darkness Within Me
Its starting to consume me. I can feel it in the very marrow of my bones, the centre of my being. Slowly, ever so slowly, it begins to block out the shimmering light inside me. Even her light. Even the shining light that she exhibits, is slowly fading away. Yet, she has not noticed. Not really.
I don't want to lie to her, to anyone. But I have to. If I want revenge for Fee, and Gramps, I have to. I must side with Melodia if I want to get my revenge. If I want to become powerful.
Kalas?
Her voice, ethereal and light. Unaware. Oblivious to the darkness within me.
Kalas?
I sigh, and smile encouragingly. Yes, I answer her, I'm here.
I want you to know…I'm here for you.
My heart sinks, but I nod, smile and I assure her that I am grateful for her presence.
But its already too late. The darkness is here now, ready to fully consume me. Soon, it will blot her out completely, and we'll be separated again, as we once were.
As soon as the darkness consumes me, and I vanish without a sound, into the night.
