The Letter

James sighed. He threw the piece of crumpled up parchment in the bin. He didn't know what to write.

He wanted to send her a Valentine. An anonymous one. Wouldn't do for her to throw it out the moment she got it.

Beautiful, kind, pretty, tender, sweet, precious. The words swirled round in his head till they blended, into a picture of the flame-haired, emerald eyed goddess that sent all of his senses into overdrive. She was all he wanted, all he needed, all he couldn't have. She was everything words couldn't describe, though he had tried so hard to find some. Perfect, gorgeous, sumptuous, witty, caring. They didn't fit her enough. She was everything, but seemed to not see it her self.

The way her beautiful, thick waves of fire rolled down her back when she laughed. The way the corners of her mouth twitched moments before she gave herself in to the amazing shining of angels that was her smile.

She was indescribable, unbeatable, everything. So he wrote it.

Dear Lily,

Why don't you see it? The way your gorgeous locks frame your face. The way you fidget with your pale, graceful hands when you are unsure of yourself.

Why can't you see that you are too much for words to describe? That you are too perfect and beautiful to be compared. To call you beautiful, kind, intelligent, courageous, witty, and sumptuous would be an insult as it cannot describe you to your fullest extent.

To say you were like a goddess wouldn't be enough as you could replace the sun in the sky and have the world bask in your glory.

But you wouldn't do it. You are too modest, too polite. But I wouldn't have it any other way.

You are more than perfect Lily, sweetheart, and though you don't know me, I know that you are you. There is nothing better in the whole wide world. I hope you learn to see it,

Your secret admirer.

He sent it off, nervously hoping she liked it.

Across the corridor Lily received the letter. And her heart stopped. To know anyone thought of her that highly, that showed her how truly special she was. The cologne on the parchment smelt familiar. That couldn't be Potters could it?

It was. And she was so happy it was from him, for though she told everyone different, her soul craved him. Her heart needed him. And at that moment nothing else mattered.

"Happy Valentines Day, James. "She sighed. "And thank you"

And with a smile she slipped into a peaceful sleep.

AN Just slightly changed. Thanks for the reviews but this was only ever intended to be a one-shot
