Mid-Term Break: Teen Titan version.
Robin sat all morning in the Justice League H.Q sickbay,
Counting bell-knelling training sessions to a close.
At two o'clock, Terra took him home.
In the porch he met Cyborg crying-
He had always taken funerals in his stride-
And Beast Boy saying it was a hard blow.
Raven's baby cooed and laughed and rocked the pram
When he came in, and he was embarrassed
By old men standing up to shake his hand
And tell him they were sorry for his trouble.
Raven informed strangers he was the father,
Away fighting crime, as Starfire held his hand
In hers and coughed out angry tearless sighs.
At ten o'clock the ambulance arrived
With the corpse, stanched and bandaged by the nurses.
Next morning he went up into the room. Snowdrops
And candles soothed the bedside: he saw him
For the first time in six weeks. Paler now,
Wearing a poppy bruise on his left temple,
He lay in four-foot box as in his cot.
No gaudy scars, Slade knocked him clear.
A four-foot box, a foot for every year.
