Author's note: I saw some Raven poems and decided to write my own, it was a spur of the moment thing, review and tell me how obvious that is. Don't skin me alive; I have an English teacher to do that.

Dispassionate

You can have no comprehension,

You who wallow in your own blindness,

You who rejoice in your imprisonment,

You fools who believe yourselves free,

And pity me.

I have found freedom,

Where you look and see imprisonment,

Prejudice lies on your eyes like fog,

And I would laugh at you,

But because I am free I need not.

You roll in emotion,

Trapped and confined, never knowing yourselves,

But I know myself,

I am my own master.

No emotion enslaves me,

No blindness enfolds me,

And you fools look at me sadly and shake your heads,

And I watch you,

And I can know you better than you know yourselves,

Because I am free.

Because I am one.
