"LUKE! COFFEE NOW!" Lorelai yelled as she tumble through the door into Luke's. She desperatly need coffee.
"Hold it," he said, as she picked up a coffee cup. "You drink way too much of that stuff. From now on, no more coffee from here."
"Oh, Luke, come on. You always say that, but then 5 minutes later, you're giving me my coffee." Lorelai was used to Luke refusing to give her coffee.
Luke stared at her. "Lorelai, I'm serious. No coffee. You already had 2 cups from here, and god knows how many from your house or at the inn. So if your going to keep bugging me for coffee, you are gonna have to leave."
Lorelai looked at Luke in disbelief. She knew that this time, he was serious about the no coffee thing. She stood up, glared at Luke, and stomped put the door. Right before she left, she turned around and yelled, "God, Luke. I can't believe you. Why do you care so much about me drinking coffee?" Then, she slammed the door behind her.
The next day, Lorelai is driving in her car. She passes the diner and looks in sadly. She leans forward and turns on the radio and listens to the song.
I know there's something in the wake of your smile.
I get a notion from the look in your eyes, yea.
You've built a love but that love falls apart.
Your little piece of heaven turns too dark.
Listen to your heart
when he's calling for you.
Listen to your heart
there's nothing else you can do.
I don't know where you're going
and I don't know why,
but listen to your heart
before you tell him goodbye.
Sometimes you wonder if this fight is worthwhile.
The precious moments are all lost in the tide, yea.
They're swept away and nothing is what is seems,
the feeling of belonging to your dreams.
And there are voices
that want to be heard.
So much to mention
but you can't find the words.
The scent of magic,
the beauty that's been
when love was wilder than the wind.
"God, does the whole world know Luke and I are fighting?" Lorelai said to herself. "Ok, I'm just going to go in there and ask for coffee, like every other day. Hopefully he'll forget all about yesterday. I don't even know why I got so mad." She paused. "Oh, wait. The coffee thing. I remember now." Pauses again. "I gotta stop talking to myself," she said as she got out of her car.
Lorelai walked over towards the diner confidently, only pausing when she was about to open the door. Come on, you have to go in there, you can avoid him for the rest of your life. It was just a little fight about coffee, right? She told herself. She tok a deep breath and walked in.
"Hey, Luke... umm, yeah. Do you have a minute? I need to talk to you about yesterday," she said, as she sat down at the counter. The diner was pretty much empty, so she figured he would say yes.
"What is there to talk about? You wanted coffee, I said no, you got mad, and left. Want to know anything else?" Luke asked.
"Why? Why do you care so much about me drinking so much coffee?"
"Because it's like liquid death. All that caffine. Besides the fact that it's not very good for you, you are addicted to it. And that's bad. You should drink tea."
"Luke, you're talking to me, the Coffee Queen. Not the Tea Fairy. But you still didn't really answer my question. I knw you think coffee is bad for me, but why do you care so much. You never refuse to give Rory coffee, and she's as big of a coffee-holic that I am. Why, Luke? Why?"
Luke looked down at the counter, which he was wiping with a cloth. He looked back up into her bright, blue eyes. This is it, Luke. You have to tell her. You may be risking your friendship, but what if she likes you, too? You can't change your mind. "Lorelai, I care...because, well, I care about you," he whispered. "Alot."
Ok, so this is my first one of these things, bo please be nice. I heard this song on the radio and just wrote.
