Eclipse
The sky was covered dark by leaden clouds
And earth was shadowed by upcoming doom
Yet one single ray of light full of doubts
Pierced the veil and shone on some doves its gloom
My so-beloved sun, alas! fell down
Like a trembling leaf from its tree released
The light went out bereaved of heaven's crown
The once golden birds their sweet singing ceased
And cold silence crept over the gaunt land
And in the air crying about world's end
Dark crows in many pieces the fog broke
I watched with horror what evil had bred
And torn heaven wept tears of darkest red
Some drops fell on my face-and I awoke!
