I Saw Everything
"Sara, I just want you to know that when we were in the shower together, I didn't see anything."
Didn't see anything. That could mean so many things. He didn't see me? He had a once in a lifetime chance to see me naked and he didn't take it? I don't know whether to feel flattered or insulted. I mean, the average guy will try to catch a glimpse of naked woman.
Or is he saying he didn't see the look on my face? That he didn't see me looking, or my reaction?
Because I saw everything.
I saw the way he squeezed his eyes shut when he turned towards me, trying to make sure I wouldn't label him a pervert.
I saw the faint mark from where the flames licked at his neck.
I saw the mixture of scars and uneven skin that littered his back. The remnants of one of the worst experiences of his life.
The cut on my hand all but disappeared. There's faint line that's visible if you look close enough. But Greg's scars are still there, and I saw them.
I know he's expecting an answer, but what am supposed to say? What kind of answer is he looking for? Well, honesty is the best policy.
