Arthur's note - I DO NOT own Harry Potter or any characters associated with the works of J.K. Rowling. I am using different lines/scenes from the books and the movies both, I am also condensing some of the scenes such as the sorting because I really want to get into the parts where they actually start classes and I'm gonna assume most people reading this know which house most people are in (if not don't worry if there's an interaction with a character at the beginning I'll point out which house they're in) and I'm also skipping the intro speech for the most part because I don't want to basically Copyright too much, anyways I hope you enjoy pls leave a review and let me know :)
Before they knew it September first arrived, the twins had woken up before the break of dawn, they were too excited to fall back to sleep. Which is how Remus and Sirius found the twins in the living room each preparing for Hogwarts in their own way. Harry sat in front of the fireplace reading Quidditch Through the Ages, every now and then he would run over to Haley telling her some exciting fact or showing her a "Wicked" picture. Of course Haley had heard Harry tell her these facts about a thousand times before, but she smiled and would utter "Yes very Wicked indeed Harry" each time.
Meanwhile Haley sat curled up on a chair petting Noir while reading through Magical Drafts and Potions, she was very excited for all her classes but looked the most forward to potions. She was also looking for a way to prove herself in this particular class, worried that the feud with her Professor, Severus Snape, and her god fathers, would transfer over to her and her brother. It was 10:30 when Remus came over and pushed her book down, letting her know it was time to leave. As she got up she glanced over to see Sirius holding Harry's book very high above his head and Harry jumping frantically trying to get it.
'Are you sure I have to take that one with me?' Haley jokingly asked Remus.
'If you don't you'll have to take Padfoot, I know how much you'll enjoy him in class with you.' Remus replied, giving a chuckle as Haley's eyes went wide and she frantically went to pull Harry out the door.
'No thank you, I think I'll take my chances with Harry.' she said as they went to grab their coats.
Harry was pushing his trolley through a very crowded King's Cross Station, which was already very difficult, but made much more so by his sister sitting at the end of it. Haley had not wanted to put Noir in his carrier; she wanted to carry him instead, which is how Sirius ended up pushing her trolley. He gave into her request with one look from her eyes and a slight quiver of her lip, Remus had just chuckled at this and told him she had Sirius wrapped around her little finger. But then she had felt sad thinking that Hedwig would be upset that Noir was getting attention while she wasn't, so Harry had agreed to let Haley ride on his trolley so that she could pet Hedwig through the cage.
Harry was really beginning to regret this decision as they approached the barrier between platforms nine and ten, his arms were becoming very sore. But as he saw the barrier Haley sat up quickly and exchanged a very excited look with her brother, and that was just the burst of energy that he needed, before he knew it he found himself sprinting for the barrier. They had asked their Godparents at least a hundred times, on the way over alone, how to get onto Platform Nine and Three Quarters, and now that they were here Harry couldn't wait a second longer.
'Hey wait up, don't. And now I'm talking to myself.' Remus sighed to himself as the twins disappeared into the barrier between platforms nine and ten.
'Oh come on now Moony, I'm still here.' Sirius smirked as he ran forward through the barrier.
'I don't know what I'm gonna do without them here.' Remus mused with a half smile that faded as a melancholic feeling slowly washed over him.
Remus shook his head then quickly and ran after his family, as he ran past the barrier he saw the familiar red steam engine that said Hogwarts Express right on the front. He looked around for his herd and saw them just past a large family all with bright red hair. He smiled at as he made his way over to them, and grabbed a hold of the other end of the trunk that Sirius was trying his very best to lift onto the train.
'Merlin, what did you pack in this thing?' Sirius exclaimed as they finally got it tucked away on the train.
'I'd rather have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.' Haley said absentmindedly while Harry helped her put Noir in his carrier so that she could place him safely with Hedwig.
'That's such bollocks Haley if you needed anything they could just send it to you.' Harry sighed at his sister.
'Language Har.' Remus scolded half heartily.
Harry mumbled out a half hearted 'Sorry.' As Remus pulled him in for a hug.
'Why did you guys choose a compartment so far down?' Remus pondered as he pulled Haley from Sirius to give her a hug.
'Everywhere else was full, I knew we should've left sooner.' Haley sighed. At this the three wizards just looked at each other to share a moment of amusement.
'We passed a boy who lost his toad, I think his gran said his name was Neville. I hope he finds it.' Haley mused looking off into the distance.
'Alright you two stay out of trouble will you.' Remus said, pulling them both in for one final bear hug.
'And if you do get into trouble, tell Mcgonagall to owl me and not your dad.' Sirius added dodging a smack from Remus.
'We will.' Harry answered with a smile plastered across his face as he jumped onto the train.
Haley paused as she went to grab the handle to help her up, she suddenly put her hand down, turned around and sprinted back to her fathers for one last quick hug. She gave each of them a swift kiss on the cheek and then turned back around to quickly jump back onto the train to join her brother. Remus and Sirius smiled as the train began pulling away, they were so proud of their fawns yet so scared.
"Excuse me?' Harry and Haley looked towards the door to their compartment.
There was a boy who looked to be in first year with them. He had red hair, his face was covered in freckles, and he was quite tall. He seemed to be slightly nervous as he stood in the doorway.
'Hullo.' Harry said
'Err, the other compartments seem to be full. Do you mind if I join you guys?'
Haley beamed at the boy hoping to ease away his tension. 'Of course, here I'll move.'
At this Haley got up from her seat that was across from her brother and went to sit next to him. She swatted at his legs, while Harry swatted at her hands. After a while Haley just huffed and acted as if she were turning away, just as Harry let his guard down she quickly turned around and shoved his legs back to the ground. She sat down with a grin as Harry stuck his tongue out at her.
'Are you in first year too?' Haley asked the boy.
'Yes, my name is Ron by the way.' the boy replied as he took his seat.
'I'm Harry and this is my twin sister Haley.' Harry smiled at the boy.
'Wait are you Harry and Haley Potter?' The boy asked with an expression of awe on his face.
'Yes' the twins replied in unison somewhat nervously.
'Can I see them?' At first the twins were confused by this and then realisation dawned on them.
They both moved their hair to the side to show the boy their lighten bolt scars on their foreheads. And then they began to wonder if this was what they would have to do every time they meet someone new.
'Wicked.' Ron said breathy. 'Do you guys enjoy wizards chess?'
At this the twins smiled as they jumped into a conversation about wizards chess, which then turned into Harry trying to defend his ability to play the game. Just as Harry was accusing Haley of cheating and promising that he could beat Ron any day the door to their compartment slid open once again. The twins grinned as they saw a tall boy with a pointed face and sleek blond hair walk in.
'What's this rubbish I hear Harry spewing now, Haley.' Draco said.
'Draco!' Haley shouted with glee as she jumped up to hug the boy. 'I was starting to think you'd forgotten about us.'
'Well someone has to come put "Boy Wonder" in his place.' Draco smirked.
'This is Ro…' Harry began but Draco cut him off.
'Don't tell me red hair and a hand me down robe, you must be a Weasley.' Draco sneered at Ron. 'Don't you know that some…'
Harry cut Draco off, 'Draco I thought we talked about this you can't be rude and stuck up, remember be more like your mum.'
'Well I think that I'll just make my way out.' Draco started to say but Haley interjected.
'Don't be such a tosser, just apologise.'
'Fine sorry for being a git, I'm working on that.' Draco said to the floor.
'Well I suppose it could've been worse.' Ron said then smirked, 'I mean I can tell who you are by your hair too, so I thought you might be a bit of a wanker.'
'Easy there.' Haley said stepping between the two boys, 'I don't want a family feud to start now.'
To break the tension Harry started up a conversation about Quidditch which all the boys seem to rather enjoy as they immersed themselves in it. Haley just rolled her eyes and sat down next to Ron so that Draco could sit next to Harry. A while later somehow Harry found himself standing up and demonstrating a Quidditch move he had read about, and he ended up slipping and falling breaking his glasses. Haley proceeded to scold the boy much to his embarrassment and he was only saved by Ron and Draco telling Haley they could just have his glasses repaired once they got to Hogwarts. Haley sat down muttering to herself about cheeky boys as she turned back to her book.
At some point the boy, Neville, that Haley had recalled seeing at the train station came in looking for his toad, Trevor. They let him know that they hadn't seen him, but Haley was the only one to get up and help look for him for a little while, but she returned to grab her school clothes and go change. Telling the boys they should do the same while she's gone. Shortly after she left the door to their compartment slid open once more, and a girl with frizzy untameable hair, and protruding teeth, dressed in her Hogwarts robes poked her head in.
'Excuse me, have any of you seen a toad? A boy named Neville has lost one.' She asked
'No, my sister has just come back from looking.' Harry said, even though she wasn't there.
'Anyways,' Draco said, continuing what he was saying, 'I'm sure your glasses can be repaired without even contacting your parents, not to worry.'
Haley had wanted to scare Harry into thinking that it was gonna be a very difficult process to fix his glasses because they were prescription, and that they would have to contact their dads. Leading Harry to believe that he would be getting an angry letter from his dad telling him to be more responsible. Though it was a lame trick Haley very much enjoyed Harry's moment of panic before Draco and Ron calmed him down.
'Oh I could fix that,' the girl said, pulling out her wand and standing in front of Harry, 'Oculus Reparo.'
At this Harry's glasses mended themselves, all boys looked shocked at how flawlessly she performed this spell. Harry even took his glasses off to inspect them, which made his scar just a little bit more noticeable.
'Holy cricket you're Harry Potter, I read all about you and your sister in,' Began Hermione but the door slid open once more presenting Haley now fully dressed in her school robes.
'Oh Hullo,' Haley said upon seeing the girl, 'I'm Haley.'
'I'm Hermione Granger. And you are?' Hermione said, looking at Ron and Draco.
'Malfoy, Draco Malfoy.' Draco proclaimed proudly.
'Er Ron, Ron Weasley.' Ron said through a mouth full of the chocolate he had been eating.
'Pleasure,' Hermione said with a face of disdain at the lack of manners. 'I'll be off now, you lot best be getting changed. I expect we'll be arriving soon.'
Hermione began making her way out when she stopped suddenly, 'You've got a bit of dirt on your nose did you know?' She said looking at Ron and pointing to the spot on her nose, and with that she was gone.
Harry and Haley stood amongst the other first years waiting somewhat patiently for their names to be called. Harry was hoping to be sorted into Gryffindor though seeing as Draco was in Slytherin he wouldn't mind that. Though he was nervous about the thought of getting sorted into Slytherin, afraid of how his fathers would react. He didn't even notice his sister's name being called until the Great Hall fell silent, which he turned to ask his sister what happened and saw she had gone up to get sorted.
Harry watched as Haley waved her head around, he wondered if the sorting hat was saying something to her. But the longer it took the more he noticed people whispering "Potter?" "Did she say Potter?", and then the unimaginable happened.
'UNCLASSIFIED!' the hat shouted.
Harry couldn't believe his ears as the whispers turned into murmurs. He watched as his sister sat up, as pale as a ghost, to have Professor Mcgonagall usher her off to the side.
'Potter, Harry' Mcgonagall shouted a little distantly.
Harry slowly made his way up to the stool, using all his might not to tremble. Harry couldn't help but look over at his sister again, he could see her shaking slightly. He couldn't imagine what must be going through her mind at the moment, but knowing her he knew her mind was already racing too fast. With one finally push of courage Harry sat down as the sorting hat was placed on his head.
'Ahhh another Potter eh.' the sorting hat said inside Harry's mind.
'Why didn't you sort my sister?'
'Your sister is the complex one she is, you're not much simpler either.' Panic began to grow inside Harry. 'You've got a thirst for knowledge I see, but you also have tremendous amounts of courage.' Harry didn't know how long he'd been sitting here but he didn't like it. 'You are very loyal, and ambitious, you have a big heart.' the panic was setting in as the hat continued to list traits of all the houses when suddenly the hat shouted.
'UNCLASSIFIED!'
The hall went silent as the ringing in Harry's ears became deafening.
