At least something different happened today, Mitsuo thought, touching his fingers to his lips where Hasunuma had kissed him. He studiously ignored the fact that someone had collected all the pillows in the dorm into a neat pile before he and his classmates had awoken, he had hiccupped one hundred times in a row, had been completely convinced that he was going to die as a result of this, and been visited by a god.

Hasunuma kissed me…but why did he do it? Why did he put himself out there? He's just going to get crap for it, like I always have. And it's not like he even likes guys – right?

Mitsuo instinctively went to cuddle into his friend's embrace, but held himself back at the last moment. That kiss… Instead, he nodded. "In a minute."

"Okay." Hasunuma had no compunctions about squeezing Mitsuo tightly. "I'll be by the window." He grinned with all the charm at his disposal and Mitsuo's colour deepened further.

As the taller boy turned on his heel and walked indoors, Mitsuo stared after him.

That guy…
