The Quibbler's Quill
By: Sydelle Marphe
I know what your thinking. What does it take for this wonderful magazine to get to my door once a month? And now we can give you the answer. The process is nothing like what you would find at The Daily Prophet or The Charmed Life. With this article, you can see why.
Reporters-
"Here at The Quibbler we take the job of choosing our employees very carefully making sure the are the best for the job," says Marie Kenny, the Senior Editor here. Each reporter specializes in one aspect of the wizarding world from sports to fashion and back again. The interviews are challenging and writing samples required. Getting on the team is not an easy task.
Articles-
Once the reporters have been chosen it is time to have the stories written. Each article is written so that it represents the cutting edge of the topic. With unforgiving criteria and deadlines, authors have no time to dawdle. Those working in the 'Biography' section have to be writing on the latest and greatest while 'School' writers have to make sure that the information they have hasn't been discovered by anyone else. That ensures new material for us to use. And unlike our competitors, we have two stories written for each topic.
Layout-
A team of specialist whose main goal is to have the page appeal to the eye, designs our magazine layout. From cover to page set-up, they do it all. With appealing color and snappy slogans it's a very trying job.
Advertising & Publishing-
Our Advertiser and Muggle Connections Agent, Allyson Learnard, makes sure that the magazine is getting out there. Also, she makes sure that we are being represented and getting the respect we deserve. Publishing, on the other hand, is handled by AMMLK Publishing Co. and they have been doing a wonderful job. They do not use regular ink, made with the blood of Crumple-horned Snarcacks, but with 100 melted lead. Ensuring the safety of our wildlife.
So, there you have it. Questions and Comments can be sent to eitherMarie Kennyor Allyson Learnard. And don't forget, next time you pick up this magazine you're helping the wizarding rid the world of gum disease.
