Gems of Arda
Four: Dancing
The dancers whirled majestically, their gowns and cloaks flowing around them. The room had been hung with bright scarves and pennants. But away from the dancers stood a bothered young Elf-maid, her dress crimped in her jealous fists.
When the dance was over, she went up to one of the male Elves and tugged on his trouser.
Yes, Artanis?" he asked, annoyed.
She pulled him aside. "Why do you only dance with Amarië?"
"Because I like her, sister."
"Dance with me, Findaráto," she said.
He gathered her in his arms, and danced only with her the rest of the night.
Both "Dancing" and "Brothers" were written for my dear friend Ithiliel Silverquill.
