Darkness consumed Jump City. All was quiet throughout the metropolis. Even the giant T-shaped tower in the bay was asleep, along with its five residents. But there were six in there that night. A lone figure creeped through the darkened hallways of the tower, intent on one thing: stealing. He was Red X, the thief who had stolen a highly advanced suit that the Boy Wonder himself had created. But he was currently incomplete. After his last encounter with the Titans, Robin had managed to take back the Xenothium belt that powered the suit. So Red X was here to steal it back.
After sneaking into Titan's Tower, Red X had navigated the many hallways and levels that lead to his objective, the safe room where Robin was sure to have hidden the belt. Only a few more and he would finally be there. But he sudenly found himself standing face toface with the green shape-shifter known as Beast Boy, who was dressed in his pajamas and holding a glass of milk and a plate of tofu cookies. For a moment they both stood there, staring, but doing nothing. Red X was the first to act. He quickly delivered a round-house kick to Beast Boy's chest, who in turn was sent flying backwards into the nearest wall. But X's trouble had just begun. Although Beast Boy was currently knocked out, the glass and plate that he had been holding had slipped from his hands and fell shattering to the floor. X had blown it.Seconds later he heard the curious calls coming from the resident alien who was awake in the other room.So X began to run. He rounded the nearest corner only to run into Cyborg, who had also been startled by the noise. They both went numbling into the nearest wall. X quickly pulled himself up, but sodid Cyborg. Without his Xinothium, X was pretty defenseless. Cyborg on the other hand quickly strated firing away with his sonic cannon. Red X hurriedly started doging the blasts, which went exploding down the halway, effectively waking up the remaining Titans. So X started to run again. If only he could reach the safe room... He was almost there when Starfire finally caught up with him, Cyborg being right behind her. A moment later Robin and Raven appeared from the other side of the hallway. He new it was over. He pulled out a couple smoke bombs, some of his only remaining weapons, and threw them on the ground. With the Titans momentairily distracted by the smoke, X siezed the oppurtunity to pull himself up into the nearest air-duct and began scrambling towards the outside world. He got out of the Tower quickly and jumped into the inflateable raft that had carried him to the island, and began heading towards the mainland while dissappearing into the early morning mist.
Red X made it back to his appartment before the sun had mannaged to rise. He couldn't go on like this. His money was running out, and if he couldn't get the suit fixed, then he wouldn't be able to steal effectively.He was jsut about to take off his mask when he suddenly noticed the figure of a man sitting on his couch."Who are you?" X said plainly. The figure stood up. He was dressed in a black body suit that was covered in armored steal plating, and was wearing a mask that only revealed one of his eyes. "Hello Red X." said the figure. "My name is Slade, and we have much to talk about."
