-Prologue- The Reasons Why
"It's just the way they sneak up on you. The way they can just appear out of nowhere, wanting attention as if it comes just as easily as blinking. Not only do they demand attention, they do not a lot for a time of shock, after you have been scared half to death by a sudden touch, or noise.
"But it is not the initial noise that startles as much as the constant need for physical touch. Do not get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with needing a concrete display of affection. But needing a constant physical display is enough to drive even the sanest person to insanity. The complete and utter randomness of interaction baffles the mind to no extent. "For one minute, they will love to love you. Giving you back equally what you show; the tender love and grateful companionship. And then the clock turns a new minute over, and you will be the reason for their hatred. A love for hatred at best. Trying to figure out the mind of such a complexity is another reason to loathe such a bestiality.
"Really, it's undeniable. The fact that they are so loathsome. Yet again, they have two sides to everything don't they? It is not surprising that with everything that one can despise, abhor, abominate, and just simply hate about cats. You just have to love them."
It's as if my words shock you, like you could never expect to hear those words from my lips. There is never such a thing as impossible. For if there was, I cursed within the Sohma family as the rat, would never be able to love you. A chuckle escapes my lips as I leave you there, standing with your eyes open wider than your gaping mouth.
"But no matter what, despite all the flaws being outweighed by their counter-parts. There is one single thing that can truly be an annoyance," I say over my shoulder as I continue to walk. "The color of their fur."
