A.N. - Okay I know this is bound to offend people so let me tell you right now, this is by NO means TRUE. Disney NEVER said the relationship between the twins father and them was this volatile. In fact I'm not even sure if their fathers not actually supposed to be deceased or something. This is just my little spin, and I might write a follow up to it. PLEASE do not flame me saying I'm a bad person for thinking the twins father could have been like this. This is just FICTION.
Disclaimer - I don't own it or anything other then a mechanical pencil.

All he could hear was the screaming and breaking glass. But then that was what he always heard. His mom was angry, his dad was drunk again, it was his life. At least it was better then the quiet. When everything and everyone was silent. No noise, no nothing only breathing and your heart beating.
Sometimes he wished they were gone. That they would leave him and take all of their screaming and fighting with them. Only that would leave him with the quiet. And he hated the quiet more then anything, it seemed so dead, so cold. The quiet always came after the screaming, and in the stillness of the air he'd hear his brother softly crying.
It wasn't fair he was the oldest he was supposed to protect his brother. He was supposed to make it all better, he needed to make it all better. But he couldn't no matter how hard he tried they kept fighting, kept screaming about things he couldn't really understand and wouldn't till he was older. Why couldn't his father just stop getting so angry? Why did he have to make his brother cry?
6 years old was too young to be this wise. He was to young to understand, but somehow he did. He knew enough to run from it. To flee when he heard the glass breaking. His brother didn't understand, couldn't figure out why daddy hated them so much. Didn't know how to escape the screaming and the glass, and the beatings. But somehow, someway he would protect him, he'd promised his brother that. He would find away to stop the fighting and the quiet. He was the big brother, it was his job, something he needed and wanted to do. After all there would be no Zack without his Cody.
