I compleated Link's awakening last night and was inspired to write this. It's a poem in Marin's POV about Link and the Island.
I do not own any of the Legend of Zelda games
My Lullaby
I was no one before that night
A girl who sang to the sky
But in my darkness there came a light
You came and taught me to fly
Our island was safe without you
Dull, predictable, grey
But then you came out of the blue
And I liked it better that way
Sometimes I think you were a dream
That you were too good to be real
Your eyes with their courageous gleam
The hope you made me feel
I knew you did not love me
Your heart lay with your sword
Slaying demons set you free
'Good deeds are their own reward'
I knew you'd have to leave me soon
To return to you're magical land
You left me singing my sad tune
Because only you understand
All my life I have wanted to fly
And then you came along
We're birds of a feather, you and I
You understood my song
I sat down on the beach today
The place we met before
I looked to the sky from the salty spray
Thought of you and began to soar
