A/N: A very quick and silly slice-of-life story, written for the livejournal community "chainoffics". And I'm so sorry about the delay with Faust! Junior year is ripping my free time to pieces. I am hoping to have it ready within the next two weeks, though.

Bakura sulked and looked down at the fish on his plate.

"Ryou," he said, sounding a little forlorn. "This fish is still alive." As if to prove his point, the fish gave a limp flop and lay still, foaming a bit at the mouth. It was somewhat eel-ish in appearance, a drab sort of gray that looked as though it had once been blue however many days ago in the ocean. Bakura gave it another poke and watched it jump feebly.

Ryou emerged from the kitchen with a writhing octopus tangled around his head. He swiped one of its mottled tentacles out of his eyes and blinked. "It is?"

"Yes," said Bakura crossly, shaking the plate so that the fish would wriggle. When it did not (it had apparently lost consciousness) he dumped the contents of his coffee mug onto it to revive it; the fish twitched noticeably.

"Don't you like raw meat?" demanded Ryou, struggling with the octopus.

"Raw fish isn't bloody enough," said Bakura plaintively, frowning. "And their scales get stuck to my teeth."

"Oh, bloody hell," said Ryou. He snatched up the dying fish from Bakura's plate and handed it to the octopus, who obligingly took it up via two of its tentacles. "Good octopus," he cooed, righting the octopus when it began to slide. To Bakura: "I'll be right back."

"Are you going to kill it?" asked Bakura with interest, half-standing.

Ryou was wearing his mother's frilly pink apron and had stained some parts of his hair yellow with tamarind. "Of course I'm going to bloody kill it," he snapped, and stalked back into the kitchen with the fish dangling between his eyes.

Bakura darted after him with his eyes shining. "Can I watch?"
