Hey, everyone this is just a little pointless one shot on what I think should have happened had the book taken another ending. Please read and REVIEW.

All of Oz rejoiced the Wicked Witch of the West was dead, or so they thought. Elphaba lay curled up in a damp trap door that had played a big part in her 'death'. The water had burnt her badly and it hurt like hell. Large welts had appeared all of her green skin, causing every nerve in her frail body to scream. She was lucky to have slid under the floor so easily it made her death far more convincing. Elphaba longed to get out from beneath the damp floor, but people kept coming to her grave site to mock her. All seemed quiet now, maybe she could come out. Suddenly she heard footsteps, Elphaba sighed as she positioned herself comfortably chances are she was going to be there for a while. She heard the person enter and all was silent for a moment.

"Auntie….no you never liked it when I called you that….. Elphaba. Why did you have to die before answering any of my questions? Were you my mom? Well, I guess I'll never know now. You never were a very caring mother if you were my mom. I just wish I knew who I was. All the other kids could say who their parents were, all except me. Dorothy left figured you'd be happy to hear that since you seemed too loath her. Oh, yea and the Wizard left as well, Glinda's in charge now. So far she's doing well no revolts yet. I thought I should tell you good by, I'm off to find Nor. Well, good by Elphaba…mother."

Elphaba shuddered hearing Liir's speech. Maybe she was his mother, he was right she was a lousy mom. He had helped her so much in that spiel; now that the wizard was gone she was at least a little bit safer now. But Glinda in charge of Oz! That would be a site; then again Glinda was always the mistress of manipulation. But Liir was going off to find Nor? How could he find Nor? The boy got lost in the fish well for Oz's sake! The teen wouldn't last a night in the wilderness. He may be Fiyero's son but he certainly didn't have his father's hunting skills. Somebody had to protect him…..hold up one second! Why was she the Wicked Witch of the West suddenly feeling the need to protect the boy that she had ignored during a majority of her life? Elphaba's head reeled, what if he isn't my son? What if he is? She battled with herself for awhile before settling on a decision. She would remain hidden for a little bit longer, then maybe just maybe she would follow Liir….her son.
