MYSTERY ILLNESS
As Lady Sandrilene fa Toren, lay in bed coughing loudly, Duke Vedris paced back and fourth worrying about his great niece. Just a week a go, she fell ill to a mystery illness. Sandry had been bed ridden since then and was gradually becoming weaker.
A maid had been assigned to care for her 24 hours a day by her great uncle Duke Vedris. Lark, Niko, Frostpine, Rosethorn and her friends' Tris, Daja and Briar had been at her bedside every day. Niko took a blood sample from Sandry and examined it. Tris, Daja, Briar and Niko himself had discovered that Sandry's blood had two magics in it. Tris suggested that the blood sample should be sent to Winding Circle to be tested to find out whose magic it was.
As Sandry's blood got tested at Winding Circle, Sandry got weaker. Now she needed help to sit up. She was becoming thinner. Time was running out for her. Lark asked for a healer and Briar bought three plants to her bedside. Tris went to Winding Circle to see the progress on the blood sample. Rosethorn and Dedicate Crane had found out whom the other magic belonged to. Rosethorn spoke to Briar and Daja through Tris. "Who's magic is it?" asked Briar and Daja.
"It wasn't another magic. It was magical poisoning, "answered Rosethorn.
"What is magical poisoning?" asked Daja.
"Magical poisoning is a poison that eats other magics. It takes their magic and their life force at the same time; they become too weak to resist it. The first sign is when the person uses their magic, it takes more energy from them as usual, then they get weaker and purple spots appear on their skin. Their voice shrivels up to nothing so they are unable to talk and are bed-ridden for the rest of their life. It will eventually kill them," said Rosethorn.
"Therefore, Sandry will die. "Daja noted.
"How long does Sandry have to live?" asked Briar?
"A couple of weeks or maybe a month?" Rosethorn guessed. One week later, Sandry was worse she was skipping meals; her voice had disappeared so sandry could not talk and she was unable to sit up. A few days later, sandry went to bed and never woke up. She died in her sleep.
