Chapter One: Disturbance

Holly Short sat in Ops, listening to Foaly's nervous voice. (A/N: For the purpose of this fic, Holly is still in LEP and Root is alive.)

"It's a glitch! It has to be a glitch! There's no way this can be right! They were all destroyed!"

Holly sighed. "Foaly, either tell me what your on about or shut up and let me go back to my cubicle."

"It's a cyborg!"

Holly blinked. "A…cyborg? You mean a human cyborg?"

"Yes! An actual human cyborg. It's name is Cybertron X1. The first of its kind. I've hacked into the blue prints. It's design is flawless."

"So the humans found a way to combine a human with a robot. It cant harm anyone."

Foaly shook his head. "That's the problem! Humans aren't this smart! And…its not just a cyborg. it's the most advanced thing I've ever seen! It can disguise itself as the human it once was, has amazing strength, and…is a weapon more powerful then anything we have now. Just think, Holly! If the humans found out about us, the could use X1 to destroy our entire existence. They would win any war against us. And it gets worse!"

Holly looked at him shakily. "Worse?"

He nodded. "Cybertron X1 has been fully operational for five years. There's no telling if they have come up with something even more powerful then X1."

Holly felt a shiver run down her spine. "Is there a bright side to this?"

"Well, there is more thing. But its not very good."

"What?"

He pressed a few buttons on his computer, then turned to face her. "About six months ago, X1 escaped from the lab. They've been trying to find it ever since."

Artemis sat at his desk, thinking hard. He had been on a date with a different girl each day for the last week, and still hadn't found one he would like to date a second time. Claire was too chatty, Margaret was too giggly, Karen was too clingy, Serafina was too obsessed with her looks, Janet was air headed, Darla was too aggressive, and Linda was just too annoying. He sighed.

Why couldn't he find a girl that was quiet, but talkative. Loving, but indifferent at times. Pretty, but not narcissistic. Smart enough to know what a molecular structure was, and complacent, but not too much so. Perhaps he would ask Butler. Or maybe…

"Arty! Darling, come down and meet the knew housekeeper!"

Artemis groaned. Why on earth did his mother insist on him being social? And with the housekeeper! For goodness sake. Ah well, he thought. Best not keep them waiting. He stood, smoothed the wrinkles in his suit, and walked down to the kitchen.

Mrs. Fowl was sitting in the kitchen. Beside her was what had to be the strangest girl Artemis had ever seen. She was staring up at him with gleaming green eyes. A pale red bandana covered the top of her head, midnight blue hair spilling out from under neither it.

"Arty, this is Stella Night. She will be the new housekeeper." His mother said happily.

A/N: Review please! I'll update as soon as I get one review. Stella is NOT a Mary Sue. I checked.
