Dream or Reality
Captain Murrue lay in her bed, the moment she closed her eyes, she would just see it happen all over again. Like one time wasn't enough, it had to happen a second time. 'Why?' she thought. 'Why did you come back? Just to die again? It's all my fault, if only I was better. This wouldn't have happened, if I was better'.
Flashback.
"Turn 30° port. Start up Tannhäuser" ordered Captain Gladys. And she watched her crew follow her orders and prepare the ship's positron cannon. She sat there with her professional side calculating Archangel's movements in order to make a good shot. Even though her conscious tells her not to. 'Because we all fight for something we believe in' she thought 'So are they'. An confirmation that the ship's main weapon is ready by her XO brought her out of her thoughts.
"Captain! The Minerva is preparing their positron cannon!" warned Mirellia. Murrue's first thought was to evade their opponent's mightiest gun. When she checked sensors, the captain realizes that if they move the Eternal will surely be hit. Before she could make up her mind , the proximity sensors went off, signaling incoming enemy fire. There she sat on the captain's chair, remembering that time against the Dominion. A thought, no a nightmare, that had haunted her for years. But this time there was no Mwu to save the ship and she prepared to face her fate.
'They only have numerical advantage. This is so easy' . Colonel Lorrnoke thought as he dodged several Goufs. He threw the Akatsuki sharp left, turned 90 degrees clockwise, distracted them with his rifle and shot them down with his funnels. 'Hmm, maybe they weren't that bad at all'. Systems indicate minor damage from the Goufs heat rods. At that moment he caught a horrible sight. Archangel being targeted by Minerva bow gun. 'NO! She will not die if I have something to say about it' he decided.
Just when she thought everything is over. A golden Gundam appear before the brigde and took the brunt of the attack 'NO! Not this again, Ramius, wake up, please wake up' she thought. She knew this was real, she just refused to acknowledge this. Meanwhile he remembered everything, the way they were, what they felt for each other, what they had together during the last days of the previous war. His Murrue. How he wished he had his memories back sooner. And the Akatsuki exploded into a million pieces.
End of flashback
Here she is, thinking about him again, trying to cry herself to sleep. Finally when she fell asleep , his face comes back to haunt her. She suddenly felt a comforting arm around her. As she opened her eyes, she saw him holding her. She started to cry and ponder what reality is or is this all just a dream.
Hey, I hope you have enjoyed this ficcy I wrote, don't get me wrong, I love the Murrue/Mwu pairing, better than most I'd say. But when I saw episode 49, I simply couldn't stop thinking about this. And the ending, it's all up to you. Thank you for taking your time to read this. Please review.
