Hope breathed in the cool night air, which was a welcome relief form the stuffy bar. she started walked the 1 block from the bus stop. her senses perked up as she looked to the left 2 guys were walking toward her fast. her muscles tensed
"Excuse me you have any money?" one of them ask he was dressed in a long balck trench coat and has scruffy blond hair
"Yeah we though we would get some from a hot ass chick" the second said stepping closer to him. hope could smell booze on him
Hope smiled and shook her head. the idiots
"Sorry im tapped out. its hard for a girl to make a living these days"
"I think your lying...Wev seen you at glow before We know you make money" Hope was getting pissed. the next thing she knew one of them had grabbed her by the throat, and the others was charging at her. Hope quickly rammed her head into the guys nose, causing him to scream and grab his bloody nose. she kicked him in the groain causing him to collapse to the ground. she leaped into the air and slammed her foot into thr side of the other guys head he stubled back, and she rammed her elbow in his neck, where he collapsed uncioinciois on the ground
"Now boys why did you have to go and do that for. i just got off work and i usually dont kick ass this early. kinda ruins a girls night you know"
The one that was still concious got up. staring at her like she was afreak
"You little bitch!" he said sqeezing his nose painfully. hope smiled and shrugged
"Yeah i can be i guess...night" she said walking off, leaving the guy standing looking at her weird.
I walked into my apartment, and hung my keys on the hook by the door. I walked to the left side of the room and peeked behinf the cutain. My roomate zoey still wasnt back yet. her job ran late. My apartment is sucky really. its only 3 stories and had grafitti all on the outside of it. so it looks seedy. the inside is just as bad. there are big holes in the walls, which we had painted to make it look better we use the pices of wood inside the holes for putting candles on, and we have rat problems and no hot water. the so called "Bedrooms" are nothing more than a cubby hole on either side of the room. Zoey had a curtain hanging on a rod that she pulled close when she wants privacy. i have purple beaded curtains around my litle cubby space. but oh well its better than nothing. My roomate Zoey is cool. shes another one of my best firends although shes a year youngetr we still get along. she too works at glow with me, her shift was later thsan mine tonight. Zoey has Red hair that comes to her wasit and dark brown eyes. shes all into yoga and being a vegetarian. which, i think is weird, but who am i to talk. I slipped inot a pair of Purple shorts and Black tank top. I went to the little space, or asi like to call it piece of shit thats supposed to be akitchen. it has a stove on the counter, and we have a refrigerator. I opened it and looked inside. I wrinkled my nose. All that was in there was a moldy tomato and a empty jar of peanuy butter, and zoeys tofue salad and veggie burgers. The truth was i was actually starving. I dont eat a whole lot i can go for 3 days staright without eating. something about manticore put something in my DNA i have a little cat, bird and I think snake. I realized i hadnt eaten since yesterday morning. sighing i shut the fridge. I didnt really want to take a bud 3 blocks to the grocery store, besides most were closed except for a 24 market. I was about to step out the door, whehn zoey came in, carrying a bag
"Hey hope i brough home dinner" she said smilingtaking off her coat and handing me the bag. I opened it mmmmmm it was Cheeseburger and fries
"Zoey you dont know how much i love you right now" I laughed taking the food out of thre bag. she came out of her oom with raised eyebrows
"Whys that?" she said sitting down across from me at our tiny little table
"Because i was starving, and i was dreading going downtown to the grocery store" I said pouring hot sauce on my fries
she laughed and took out her own food
"mmmmm personally my avacodo salad is way more yumm thasn your dead cow" she said taking a huge bite of her salad covered in Italian dressing
"Wuteva...i..thuk...yur wurd" I mumbled through a mouthful of food. swallowing i smiled at her. she threw a cherry tomato at me
"See if i bring you food again"
"Kidding zo you know i love ya" i told her stuffing 5 fries in my mouth a once. she shok her head
"Girl no wonder your starving you havent ate since like ealry yesterday morning...heck iv seen you go 3 days without eating..how do you do it? are you on a diet, because starving yourself isnt the right way..juat cut back oj sweets and meat"
"Zoey chill im not on a diet. i just...i have phases were im not hungry" i said shrugging. i wasnt about to tell her i was made ina lab. none of my friends know. she nodded
"If you say so hope...whoa!" she said staring at me all of a sudden. I looked at her alrmed
"what?"
"You already ate your burger and fries"
"Well i was hungary" i said smiling sheepisly. the truth was i was still hungary
"Well im stuffed you want my salad?" she asked holdig it out in front of me
"Thats ok...but i am still hungary im gonna go grab a quick something" i said satnding up and going to get my jacket. zoey stared at me
"What! girl how can you have room for anything else?" zoey ask staring. i shrugged
"What can i say im a growing girl...be back later" i said closing the door. the truth was the whol eating thing could go to ways. sometimes i wasnt hungary for days other times, i couldnt seem to get full. yet another thing manticore messed up in me that i cant control, just like my mating cycle. but thats another story. I walked onto mellow street, where most of the few seedy fast food places were. what was i in the mood for?...pizza thats sounded good. I spotted Lilos pizza scrodd the street. i quickly crossed over and went to the fast food window. I had never been here before but, i heard they hasd good pizza. i peeked in the window and saw a women i knocked and she came to the window
"Hi um...can i have a large sausage and pinapple pizza please" i said trying to ignore my growling stomach
"Sorry girlie im closing up come back some other time" the woman said. i sigh i was getting peeved now
"What! oh cmon miss im starving i just want some damm pizza"
"Go away before i call the police!" she yelled closing the window. i stepped back. dammit. suddenly i had an aidea i didnt like it, but i was desperate. i waited until i saw the woman leave the biulding and lock up. quickly. i climed to the top of the building. i took and screw driver from my jacker, which i always carried and managed to break the lock without tripping the alarm. i snuck in quietly. in was very good at this manticore had taught us how to break and enter without being called i crept like a cat sloently to the kitchen. i saw 2 different fridges. i figured they kept the fresh pizzas in the fridge on the lft it felt the warmest. i opened it, and was greeted by the heavenly aroma of piping hot pizzas. Each shelf was labled. I spotted a pineapple and sausage on the top shelf i grabbed it and closed the door. i tossed 10 $ on the counter and crept silently out the door. a few minnutes later i came through the my aprtment door and set the pizza box on the table. zoey walked ihn
"About time you got back..you were gone ovetr an hour"
"Yeah well...uh i couldnty decide what i wanted" i said laughing nervously sitting down. zoey walked over and looked in the box
"Damm girl its like 1am in the morning and ytour eating a large greasy meaty pizza" she said yawning. I just nodded i was already on ,y second piece, so i couldnt talk. i swallowed
"You know i have a craving for a chocolate milkshake to go with this" i said taking my third slice of pizza. Zoey shook her head
"I dont see how you keep your figure...anyways im going to bed...oh and you might want to slow down or youll get sick" she yawned and closed her curtain. i sat and finished my pizza, and started thinking about Alec. i really missed him. I had no idea were he could be.
