A/N: I wasn't sure of whether to do a one-shot or not but I decided to see how this unravels.

A long time had elapsed since the last beyblade tournament everyone had settled down into their normal lives again, that is except for Kai. After traveling the world he was still wandering around, through all the beyblading and his experiences he was still not satiated. One day in Hong Kong by blind luck or perhaps something else Kai met a familiar face that immediately struck a chord.

He walked towards Rei who was quite surprised to see him, Kai immediately asked to challenge the Chinese blader who was taken aback but accepted. They took a cab to an open park where they set off to find a spot where they could battle alone. The skies were clear and the afternoon sun grew low in the horizon, a small breeze blew past slightly cooling the tense atmosphere between the two.

It had been a while since they last had a good beyblade match, both needed to sharpen some rusty skills. Kai and Rei had waited so long for a match against each other, outside the beystadium, away from everyone else and in a place of their own. As usual Kai was stone faced but emotion would eventually seep through the cracks.

When they had settled in a nice, secluded spot they got ready connecting their beyblade's to their launchers. Together they both yelled out the distinctive line of beyblading: 3,2,1 Let it Rip! It was certainly going to be an interesting match, win or lose did it really matter?

The beyblades weren't the only that were creating sparks whenever they collided. Rei and Kai were paying more attention to each other rather than on their beyblades which seemed to now spin aimlessly and would occasionally clash.

A smile formed on Kai's face as he ordered the red phoenix to attack flames not only fell upon Driger but also Rei who turned round to shield himself. He was unharmed but his bind and headband had split into tatters releasing the charcoal black hair, which floated around his body.

Now it was Rei's turn to retaliate as the tiger slashed at Kai who's clothes were now torn revealing the smooth creamy flesh. The situation had become strange usually a bit beats attacks were powerful and damaging. However they seemed more subdued and controlled, there was no intensity or aggression as if they did not want to fight each other. This was not reflected by their masters who wanted to win and to show which was the better blader, understandably emotions ran deep.

Is he my equal, is he the one that I….? The thought flicked through their minds it was hard for them to concentrate on the fight.

Dranzer and Driger circled each other not ferociously but placidly all of a sudden there was a blinding flash of light.

The two bladers suddenly found themselves suspended in mid air, they weren't in the park anymore, the bits beats seemed to have disappeared which strangely didn't worry either of them. They floated, almost gravitated towards each other slowly and eagerly.

The bluenette was cold to the touch as he shivered from warmth of Rei's hand which gently caressed his cheek. Frosty blue eyes met brilliant golden ones which sparkled with joy and longing. Rei's heart beat faster in nervous anticipation, he felt light headed but couldn't help smiling.

Kai wrapped his hands around his elbows, leaned in and touched his mouth to his. Rei gasped, then almost forgot everything else as Kai drew him snugly against him.

It didn't matter if the world ended right then, everything that was lost was now found, complete.
Even though reality was a second away they would always have their own moment in eternity.
