I look into my father's eyes, barely hearing what he's saying. It's not my father telling us this; it's Admiral Cain, speaking with my father's voice. She must have ordered it. Despite the way he's acting, I can tell he wouldn't have ordered it without her.
Kara just asked for permission to speak freely and he denied her. That was Admiral Cain too, my father would have said yes. Admiral Cain is pushing him; she's pushing us all.
She pushed her own humanity away, and the humanity of her crew. Now she's pushing aside a way of life that has been set in for us as if it were insignificant.
We left his quarters, without saying a word, but it was apparent we were thinking the same thing.
If she keeps pushing, we push back. Somewhere down the road, we are going to have to push back.
