They come to me

Battered and worn.

They're faces tired

They clothes torn.

Some new

Some old.

Slaves that were bought

Others sold.

The FireBenders; they know

So I tell the refugees, "Keep low."

People trust me

People I don't know

I charge small fees

They like me more.

The end came fast

I was not old

Though me, as a memory, shall last.

A slave betrayed me

He was not over 20

His name was Lee

A name I shall pray for

He did it for a good reason, I'm sure.

They took me away

To a place like Hell.

Where the great Takeo

Finally fell

They killed me, a long tortured death

Then they put me in my house

As a final place to rest

Over my body, they put a sign

It read, "Refugees beware,

Or your fate will be like mine.

Now my soul is in heaven

Along with others, now free

It is wonderful

Come join me.

XXX

There.
