Summary: It's stormy outside
Stormy WeatherOutside the lightening crackled and flashed, lighting up the hallway outside the command centre. The storm outside wasn't as bad as the last one that had affected the city, but that didn't stop Teyla from shaking. It was silly really she never expected the composed warrior she was to be afraid of lightening.
As she looked out across the vast ocean a pair of arms wrapped around her waist. Teyla smiled immediately feeling the comfort and safety wash over her. The man slowly bent his head down and rested his chin on her shoulder.
"You know that there are lights in the hallways, it doesn't have to be so dark." Teyla stifled a giggle.
"I was watching the lightening. That is not a crime Colonel."
"I thought you were afraid of lightening?" John breathed the scent of her in, she smelled sweet like cinnamon.
"Not when you are near, John." Teyla turned her head slightly so she faced him. John slowly extended to his full height and turned her round completely to face him.
"I have something for you." Teyla gave him a puzzled glance. "This belonged to my mother and I wanted you to have it." John pulled out a delicate looking box and handed it to her. Opening it she saw a diamond ring inside.
"I do not understand." Teyla had an idea what he was asking but didn't want to overstep her boundaries.
"I know you've talked about wanting a family for some time, and with the way things have been recently I have realised that I want a family as well. With you."
"John…" He kneeled down.
"Teyla will you be my wife?" Teyla bent down to his level; taking his face into her hands she kissed him.
As she drew bag she whispered the simple word: "Yes."
