Plushie
There are days when Lettuce stays behind in Café Mew Mew when the all the customers have gone and the girls have all said their farewells to each other. When questioned, she always replies that she likes her alone time, away from her friends, her family, even if it's just for an hour or so a day.
Times like these are when Lettuce is truly in her element. Sitting in a corner away from inquiring eyes, she lovingly and meticulously stitches pieces of black fabric together, her slender fingers flying as she weaves the needle back and forth between the soft fabrics; very different from the same hands that end up breaking dozens of dishes at a time.
Yet, Lettuce is not by herself. A few tables away from her, Ryou, is also busy, a laptop in front of him, his own tan, slim fingers busy as he types away for his next project.
Neither person minds each others presence. On the contrary, Ryou enjoys the comforting tune that Lettuce unconsciously hums while she sews, and Lettuce enjoys the repetition of the sound of keys being tapped.
One day, Ryou was disappointed to see when he walked into the front of the café, that Lettuce was nowhere in sight. However, on the table where she usually sat, was a small parcel.
Looking around, the blonde saw no one busting through the door, frantically searching for a small parcel, so, being the curious cat he was, he tentatively picked up, and was pleasantly surprised to see his name neatly printed on the side.
Pulling the lime green ribbon, the cerulean blue wrapping paper fell to reveal a hand stitched blue eyed, black cat. Around its slender neck was a green collar Ryou similarly wore when he was in his cat form.
"It's a gift, for allowing me to stay at the café after hours," a soft voice startled him, making him turn to see a small form hiding behind one of the café pillars. Gradually, the shy girl came from behind the pillar; her eyes look straight at the floor as if it was the most important thing in the world.
"Lettuce…"
"I know…i-it's not expensive, and it's not…really anything you need, b-but I thought you'd like it…" Lettuce murmured, her voice gradually growing softly as she began mutter incoherently.
"Lettuce!"
A happy, laughing voice stopped her from going on about the plushie. Looking up, she was shocked to see Ryou still holding it, the cat nestled snugly in his arms, a warm smile on his face.
"Thank you, I'll take good care of him."
"Ah…" she was about to look back down if Ryou hadn't stepped forward, his finger gently raising her chin up to look back up at him.
Lettuce forced herself to faint in the middle of the room, but mental will kept her from the action. She mentally gave herself a pat on the head for such a great achievement. Time for another achievement.
A timid smile appeared on her face as she looked back up at him straight in the eye, "You're welcome."

SS: Yay! I managed to write another drabble. I'm pretty darn proud of myself now. I hope you like it! It's short, but my muse kept poking, and poking, and poking my brain to write it down. XD
