AN: shootski (Hey, great ideas! Thanks! I just might use them...) Some Guy (Hey, thanks! I'm glad someone like you, who doesn't like dramatic stories, decided to check out mine!) Emandley (Nice to hear from you again! That's no problem... I need to review more often, too. Not to worry! I don't mind getting long emails, probably because most of the time I am the author of lengthy reviews, letters, and emails. Right on! You had some awesome points there. Your view on that is the exact same as mine, though you did go into it deeper. Thanks so much! I appreciate it more than you think when you actually take the time to review like that. It lets me know that you actually put some effort into it... actually read my story! God bless you!) Andrea Hardee (Nice to hear someone who's not afraid to stick up for God! Nice job on that one, sister!)
Pixie of the Pen (I want you to see my reply, so I made a new paragraph for this one. I really don't know what to say! To tell you the truth, I think I could improve my writing in many ways, and same with my relationship with God. You have no idea how your review made me feel... I feel like I can go back and write for hours, just because you've made up for all the flames that I've gotten, and probably beaten any other review I've ever gotten since starting to write on God Bless you, and thank you so much. I don't know waht else to say besides that! I'm... astounded. No, I'm flabbergasted.)
David and Goliath
There once sat two hills
With a valley between
And if one would look
Two camps could be seen
Once camp on one hill
And one on the other
As a battle raged on
Between one another
Now, the camp on the north
Could master them all
They had a champion
Over nine feet tall!
The giant took to taunting
The south camp all day:
"Come out, little weasels!
Come out and come play!"
No Israelite challenged
The big Philistine champ
No warrior was brave enough
To depart from their camp
But then came young David
Our hero, saving the day
The leaders and the soldiers
Could do nothing but pray
As David challenged the giant
With no armor or sword
Only a slingshot and stones
He drew his strength from the Lord
Goliath just laughed
As he saw the young boy
Thinking he'd just crush him
Like he'd step on a toy
The spectators grew quiet
As on Goliath laughed
David readied his slingshot
Was the boy simply daft?
Up went the stone!
Israel's hope with it
All eyes turned skyward
Until the rock hit
The onlookers gasped:
"Goliath's forehead!"
Would Israel's enemy
Turn out to be dead?
David stepped back
'Til the rock took its toll
Goliath stood still
His eyes began to roll
With a dramatic thump!
The giant fell forward
The Philistines groaned
Their eyes filled with horror
Their sighs were hopeless
Their glares were heated
For each one of them knew
That they'd been defeated
