When you first saw them walking together; she was tiny but so beautiful, and the strength in her eyes was like nothing you've ever seen. He let her call him "idiot" and push him around the way he would never let anyone else.
You should have known that day.
When he came in and she wasn't there; it was as though he had lost something and wasn't quite sure what it was or how to it get back.
You understood that day.
When he crossed into hell looking for her; leaving behind everything he had ever known without a second thought. He wasn't sure if he would come back; he just took his heart and soul and ran. You went too, but it didn't matter.
He left you too that day.
When she came back and the look in his eyes squeezed your heart so tight, you couldn't breathe. She dragged him off and brought back the confidence he had lost when she wasn't there; in her heart she had said and that was all he needed to hear.
You lost hope that day.
When he looked at her sometimes and she could understood like nobody else could. How she had the ability to make him angrier than you've ever seen and lonelier than you could stand. It was as though she found that rusted key that he had hidden so well and told him she would use it when he asked her too.
You could have sworn it was raining that day.
