Mindless
The sounds of the crowd bubbled in through the open window in an irregular rhythm, mixed in with the heavy drumming of the music. What was once too loud seemed to fade into the background. The perfect mindless background for what they were doing.
Because it was definitely mindless.
But she hated the sudden sounds that cut through the background noise. She hated the jarring sounds of laughter penetrating her passion soaked mind, although it seemed oddly appropriate that their first time should be uncomfortable.
Their relationship had always been uncomfortable.
She thought that she should be more worried that anyone could walk in, at any moment and find her on her desk with her CO's fingers buried deep inside of her.
She should be more worried, but she wasn't.
But that was okay because nothing really mattered anymore. It's funny how priorities change. Where once something seems so important and then suddenly ceases to be. But she was thinking too much again. And then she wasn't. because he was inside her and moving. And she could not think only feel.
Her world seemed to have shrunk to just him. His words whispered only for her, harsh and low. She thought she heard 'Oh God,' and 'Sam' and maybe even 'love' because she didn't want to think she made that one up.
Then when her world shattered he was with her. Surrounding her, holding her, for all the world like the lovers they weren't.
They weren't lovers.
They couldn't be because the sounds that flowed from outside came from her engagement party, and the jarring laughter was that of her future husbands.
