You thought I wasn't looking.

But I was.

And you couldn't guess what I saw.

I saw subtle glances, hidden smiles,

I saw captive emotions and graceful gestures.

Someone with strengths and flaws.

That's what I saw.

Someone real,

Someone human.

I guess that shouldn't have surprised me

But some how it did.

Strange to think that you were just like everyone else.

No one can really see that though.

They see the surface and nothing more.

Their loss.

Perhaps someday someone else will see what I have,

And change the view they hold of you.

But as I said, they see but the surface.

That is all they will ever see because it is all you ever show,

But for subtle glances and hidden smiles.
