"It is one thing if he says he doesn't want to come to the meal but another if there is ice for dessert. There is something wrong, doctor!" Lucas dragged Dr. Westphalen along from the hospital ward to Ben's quarter where he knocked at the door.
"Yes?" Ben groaned.
Lucas and Dr. Westphalen entered and went immediately to Ben, who lay on his bunk and held his belly.
"You seem to be really sick." said Kristin.
"No wonder if you ate all the ice!" Lucas had discovered the empty boxes. "And what's more, without me!"

" Will you finally hold still, lieutenant!"
"But it hurts so much! If I catch the person who put glass into my shoes then he's going to be in for it!
"Hello Doctor, do you... oh, here you are. What have you done? Don't say you broke my present for you on St. Nicholas' day!"
"Does this mean you put these things into my shoes, Lucas?"
The teenager looked at Westphalen innocently . "Isn't it custom on St. Nicholas' day to put gifts for people into their shoes?"
That's not how Ben saw it and looked at him with flashing eyes.
"See you later." Lucas said and hurried away.
