Inside Their Skin

Metal and wires
Fused together
Pretending to be real.
From humans
You can no longer
Distinguish them.
There are more of them
Than of the humans
They are slowly taking over
But no one notices.
It is impossible to notice
Human look-alikes
They even act the same.
Containing intelligence
They did not earn
That others inserted
Into their mechanical brains.
Betrayal
By their own creations.
And they cannot escape.

A/N: I've read the short story and seen the movie, and the idea of infiltration of humans has always been interesting to me. This could also be related to the ani-matrix, I suppose. As my friend put it after seeing that (and we only saw the pg-13 episodes) she was scared to go near her toaster the next day.
