Written as a request from pipwise, who wanted some Sawyer h/c.
Some people had groaned at the sight of him being brought back to camp. Some people had shook their heads and said he deserved to be shot. Some people tried not to pay any mind. She couldn't ignore him though.
Sawyer cracked an eye open, feeling his whole body sore and heavy. He tried to move, but a hand stilled him.
"You need to rest." It was her. He scanned the beach for her when the raft was taking float, but she hadn't been there for him.
"Don't tell me-"
"I'm sorry," Kate blurted out before he could say anything else.
"For what?" Sawyer asked, roughly. He shifted slightly, wincing as his shoulder started to throb.
Kate stared at her hands in her lap. "For not being here to say good-bye when the raft set sail."
Sawyer's eyes flicked away from her face, his features softening just a bit. "Okay. What am I suppose to think about that?"
Kate shrugged. "Whatever you want to think about it." She went to stand, but Sawyer's voice caught her from walking away.
"Why dontcha sit here with me then?" he asked, not wanting her to leave.
She thought for a moment then nodded. "All right."
