Summary: The events at the end of TWWRLAM as seen by the witch's apprentice
Authors Note: I like the fist half, but not the second. Tell me what you thinkYou stand there
As always
Tall and imposing
As if nothing can make you seem anything less than you are
Not the rope that ties your hands behind your back
Not the cut on your forehead that baths your face in blood
Not the logs at your feet dry as summer could make them
Not the crowd surrounding you throwing rocks and shouting insults
But the stake
The stake
It is all there is to proves you are not in complete control
It shows a weakness in you that the crowed devourers like starving wolves
If you were to fall, to cease standing
The stake would hold you in your place
But were the stake to fall it would pull you down
And once more the crowed cries out
We have stood hear all night
The priest says that with the mourning
Shall come a light powerful enough to rid this town of evil
But you are not evil
You are not even from this town
A torch is cast onto the wood at your feetLight blazes
And roars
With the energy we have given it
The light plays upon your face
Oranges, reds and yellows lick at your dress
They reach for the sky
The priest cries out
Telling us of the god you have angered
So cruel is Yahzed
And quit easy to anger I imagine
Yet drought and famine brought our town to its knees
Not his anger towards you
The priest continues to scream
The sky is clear
The wind blows softly
The sun gently warms us all
But all here are cold with fear
They fear you
I fear for you
"No!"
A woman's voice screams out
Cutting out all else
Purple fire streams before her
Several villagers charge
A cavern opens at their feet
"Fiend!"
The priest cries out
Then shrieks as his spell pendent shatters
The mage is on horseback
And these's people are not warriors
Rocks fly though the air
She uses magic to deflect them
The crowd brakes
And runs
"Goddess!" she cries
"Give me rain!"
From the clear, azure sky
Strom clouds blot out the sun
Thunder cracks
Rain pours down
Where the flames had danced
Steam drifts, lazily
The mage cuts you free
Gathering you onto her companions horse
Lightning flickers
The mage shatters the stake
It is gone
You are gone
My time here has ended
I must leave
Will I ever see you again?
Master? Mage?
Or am I alone
