A Ripple in the Water
Her dark hair covered her eyes as she let herself cry. She hated to cry, but she couldn't help it.
She held a lonely rose in her tiny hands. It was white; she thought it meant to symbolize pureness and happiness. She chucked it in to the water watching the water ripple.
She sighed as she pushed back her dark hair from her eyes. The tawny skin under her eyes red and puffy from crying. She leaned back on the grass and pulled a daisy from next to her. Slowly she picked the petals, allowing them to float away in the air. The sun shone brightly above her, making it hard for her to look up.
It was an odd day to mourn a death, due to the beautiful day it was. There was hardly a cloud in the sky, showing no chances of rain. A breeze blew her hair back onto her face, she didn't remove it.
She closed her eyes lazily allowing the sun to shine on her. She soon became haunted by the voice.
He's dead. Gone forever, you'll never see him again. Face it.
No.
Dead. Dead! DEAD!
Stop it!
Gone! Gone! Never ever coming back.
STOP IT! STOP IT!
Admit it; he isn't coming back for you. In fact he probably never cared for you anyway.
Yes he did.
No he didn't it. Why would he? Look at you.
He said I was beautiful.
He lied.
Her eyes shot open in a flash. The voice always had a way of getting to her. The voice always made her feel useless, ugly, and unwanted. Now, it was making her think Cedric never cared.
Even with her eyes open the voice still haunted her.
Ugly. No one wants you.
Please? Stop?
No one wants you; they all think the same thing. That you aren't good enough.
But I am. Aren't I?
No, you aren't. No one cares about you. They all wish you had died.
Quit.
Even Harry hates you. You turned him down. Now he hates you.
He does?
Yes, he does. Now, he thinks you're ugly and stupid. He wonders why he ever liked you.
Please just stop, I can't take it anymore.
Just go kill yourself; no one wants you around anyway.
Maybe, you're right.
I am right. Just Avada Kedavra yourself now.
Maybe I should.
Do it now. Now! NOW!
I will.
Do it.
Slowly she stood up and pulled her wand out of her pocket. She hesitantly pointed it at herself.
Its just two words.
She closed her eyes once more so she wouldn't see what she was doing.
Say it already.
"Avada Kedavra."
With a splash there was another ripple in the water.
