PLYMOUTH
I think I'm going to miss this the most when we return to Japan. The coast. Such irony, I know, when Japan is nothing but coastline, but there the ocean is only too familiar. Here, away from Tokyo and blessedly having escaped London if only for a few days, the Plymouth coastline is a comfort I know I am going to miss very much. Hereā¦nothing reminds me of work. Considering my particular line of work these past five years or, anything not related to that unpleasantness is a blessing.
"Yo, Aya! Move your ass, already, I'm starving!" Ken yells at me, in Japanese of course considering his stunted English, which attracts more attention than I would like, as always. But I don't grudge him that common volume to his voice. He likes the coast too, this being the third time we have managed to steal away together, but he prefers me all to himself, after a good meal, when it is just us and our room at the Copthorne Hotel. He still refuses to book rooms at a bed and breakfast because, 'Men just don't do that shit, Aya'
I smile to myself, very softly, and as he is coming up beside me now, bordering on irritated that I have yet to move, he sees it. There was a time when I never would have allowed him--or anyone--to catch such an expression.
"Great view." he grins, irritation instantly forgotten, his meaning more than clear since the coffee-brown of his eyes are focused nowhere near the water, the trees, or those distant hills.
"Aa." I say, turning to him as I slowly stand, still wearing my smile if only to keep that view in his sights, since I know he enjoys it so much. "The Crystal Dragon?" I ask, knowing he will only be too pleased at the mention of our favorite Chinese place in town.
His sly grin widens and he slides his arm around my waist, drawing attention to us again. I don't mind as much this time though. The dimple on his cheek twitches as he leans closer and says, "You know me only too well, Aya."

A/N: Yeah, pointless drabble fluff, written for my Creative Writing class. We had to begin a story, setting up existing time, habitual time, a little humor, introduce a character or two, and make the reader want more, all in a paragraph including an asigned place. I had Plymouth, England. Worked out well since Weiss Side B is in England, and I thought of Ran and Ken, so...there you go. I imagine this happening after Weiss Side B is over just before Ken and Ran head home, as I can only imagine they will one day do. Hope it was cute. Reviews are always appreciated. Later! And do check out my current Saiyuki fic if you know the fandom.
