Lincoln looked over at his brother as he walked over, wincing when he stepped onto his left foot. He instantly remembered an old memory from when they were kids.

" Michael! Where are you?" the 13 year old yelled looking around the schoolyard for his missing little brother. He had forgot about him when he went home that day and now regretted it as he searched for the kid. He stopped hearing a small whimper and followed the sound until he found his brother. 3 other boys from his class were standing over a small form kicking it non-stop.

" Hey! Get away from him!" the three looked at him before running from him instantly. Glaring at their backs he went to his brother's side. He helped him up slowly noticing a couple bruises on his neck and face. He cuffed the back of his head lightly helping him up. " Don't do that. Why weren't you at the meeting point?" he asked glaring at him.

" Sorry…I…I was on my way and they grabbed me."

" Well stick up for yourself from now on." He said coldly. The small boy nodded weakly. " Until then I'll protect you, promise." A bright smile lit up the young one's face before the elder's lips smiled back slightly.

" I'm sorry Michael." His brother glanced at him confusion written on his face easily. " I broke the promise I made to you. I told you I'd protect you…I failed." He told him. Lincoln glared at the other as he began to smirk and laugh.

" I forgot about that…damn…I was even crying that day!" he said laughing some more.

" It's not funny! I'm being serious!"

" So am I. You saved me that day and many after that. So now it's my turn. So stop looking like you're about to cry and suck it up." Lincoln watched him for a while before letting the subject drop and turning to a new one.

" What's wrong with your foot?" Michael looked at his foot before glancing around then at him.

" Uh…a little accident. Abrutzzie and I had a little talk that didn't go well…"

" I'll kill him!" just like when they were kids.
