Ari was sleeping soundly in his bed. He and his friends were sleeping in the Madril hotel for the night. While he was sleeping, his lamp in his room turned on by its self. Ari's shadow host, Stan, appeared and looked at the sleeping boy.
"Slave, are you awake?" Stan whispered. Ari just turned over, facing the wall. Stan tried to shake his slave awake.
"Slave." Stan said a little louder.
Ari didn't respond.
"ARI!"
At that, Ari was so startled, he fell out of his bed.
"GAH!" Ari rubbed his how sore head. He looked tiredly up at Stan. "What?"
"Slave, I need to ask you something." Ari closed his eyes and yawned, still rubbing his head.
"Can't it wait till in the morning?" Stan crossed his arms.
"No, it can't." Ari just yawned again and stood up.
"Okay, okay. yawn What did you want to ask me that can't wait till morning?" Stan seemed to ponder on that question for a while before asking.
"Slave, what is love?"
"WHAT!" Ari's eyes widened. If Stan had eyebrows, he would've raised one.
I repeat, what is this pitiful human emotion you call love?" Ari's face was red with embarrassment. He really did not want to explain to the Evil King what love was. Stan just stared at his now blushing slave.
"Well? Are you going to tell me, or do I have to force it out of you?" Stan knew that Ari knew what love was. If Ari was going to try and get out of telling him, Stan would know. He wanted to know what it was and what Stan wanted, he got.
"Um... It's um... Er..." Ari was stalling and both Stan and Ari knew it.
I'm waiting, slave. Why is it so hard to tell me this emotion?" Ari didn't say anything. He was thinking about what all the fortunetellers of Love had said to him when they read his future love.
You're a perfect match with... Oh my! The Evil King Stan?
Each one had said that. Ari found that would be impossible. But as the days of travel with the Satan King, he had started to fall in love with him.
'That is why it's so hard to explain love to him.' Ari thought.
"Well... It's when... Er... Two people... Like each other... Um... In a more... Not just friends way..." Ari finished, blushing a crimson color. Stan thought over what his slave had just told him and nodded.
"Thank-you, Slave. I was just curious to know because all those fortunetellers." Ari just nodded, his face slowly going back to its original color, and yawned.
Slave, go back to sleep. The next Fake Evil King is going to be next to that deserted snow village." Ari smiled at that. The town that Stan was talking about was a town where people, ghosts, and spirits go when forgotten. Ari had been one of those people and had gotten help from the circus Ringmaster to become not forgotten. Because, people who are forgotten turn invisible to the other people. Ari now is the only person that came out of that town not forgotten. Only he can see the forgotten people of that town.
Ari got back into his bed as Stan returned to his shadow to sleep. When Ari was asleep, Stan came out again. His glowing jack-o-lanturn eyes stared at the sleeping boy. He then leaned down and kissed Ari on the cheek.
"I guess the fortunetellers are right. My perfect match is... Ari." Stan smirked at that thought. He then returned to Ari's shadow, the lamp turning off as he did so. Both he and Ari fell into the abyss of their fantasies, dreaming of the other.
