Title: Desert

Pairing: Roy/Hughes

Warnings: Well, I wrote it. (That should be enough reason to avoid reading it.) Also, slightly fluffy.

Disclaimer: I don't own the characters of FMA. Or any self-respect. Therefore, I write fanfiction.

It is hot.

Dust and ash mingle in the wavering air, and sand stirs blithely through them. Soon the charred ruins will crumble, flaking into the wind until every dune is as much burnt wood as it is crumbled rock. The desert has never been a lively place. What fills it now is no more than the usual desolation, albeit on a somewhat grander scale.

Roy turns away. Amid the barren brown wastes, he thinks only of vibrant green eyes. The unending horizon makes him crave the comfortably close circle of Hughes' arms.

It is hot, but that does not explain his thirst.
