Chapter 1: Ayame!
Ayame was standing at the river making sure that she was ready. Her long silver wiped around her face. Being a kitsune had its advantages. She made her way home to see her brother. When she got there the door was ajar. She ran inside to find her brother dead on the floor. Ayame kneeled by her brother and saw that he was clutching a pendant. She removed the pendant from his hand and found a note attached. The note read "happy birthday Ayame!" she began to cry when some one came up behind her. The person said "Consider this a warning!" and hit Ayame in the back of the head. She gasped and fell unconscious.
A few hours later
Ayame woke up and had a hell of a headache. She was about to get up when someone with a kind cheery voice asked if she was ok. She opened her eyes and replied yes. She got up and her heart began to ache, her brother really was dead. A young girl with bright blue hair greeted her.
"Hi my names Botan!"
"Ok why are you here?"
"Because I'm here to take you to see Koenma, so pack your things it isn't safe anymore!"
Ayame didn't argue, she had lost her only reason to stay in the Makkai. She packed her clothes, personal belongings, what few plants she had and her pendant. She began silently crying. 'Brother' she thought.
"Time to go." Botan said.
When Ayame turned around she saw a big purple portal in front of her.
"Go on." Botan said kindly. Ayame replied with a nod and began walking. She entered the portal and came out in a pretty boring office. She looked around and saw a toddler sitting behind the desk.
"H…Hello." Ayame said.
"Hi I'm Koenma."
"You wanted to see me?" Ayame asked
"Yes, well you are no longer safe in the Makkai."
"Why?"
"Someone is killing Kitsune's all around the Makkai, to make matters worse we don't know why you were left alive."
"So what do you suppose I do about it?"
"I'm sending you to the nigen with the body guard and you will be placed in a school with your body guard till our other operatives get done with their mission." Koenma said.
"But…I…"
"But nothing this is life and death here"
"Ok, sorry."
"This is your bodyguard Tsukiko"
The door opened and in walked a short girl with long purple hair and black streaks. She didn't look to happy. Ayame noticed she was a cat demon.
"Hi Tsukiko" Ayame said. Tsukiko just nodded in reply.
