She actually liked how sexist he could be sometimes, mostly because she liked being able to prove him wrong by saving his misogynistic ass. She liked being able to relax with him because the only men that had been in her life were overbearing, controlling men. Her father was cruel, Kankuro hated taking any orders, and Gaara was an almost completely crazed demon container.
Shikamaru was completely different from the men in her life because he was so relaxed, so uncaring. He didn't stop her if she wanted to do something, but he made it clear if he was worried.
